MERLIN (EH101) Helicopter – Risbridger Pump
During a recent trip to the Danish Defence Force by our Danish distributor, LD Handel, a difficulty with replenishing the Oleo Shock Strut (landing gear) was revealed. It was an extremely tricky task because of its position on the aircraft and the confined working area around the bleed screws. We realised that one of our existing pumps (5580) could be easily modified to solve this problem.
Risbridger rose to the challenge and redesigned the 5580 Pump (originally developed for the Bae Hawk Trainer jet) to fit the requirements of the Merlin EH101 Helicopter. This specialised pump includes a ‘fill to overspill’ collection kit, which means that the waste oil is easily collected and discarded without any mess. Following a field test on location in Denmark, the pump was deemed suitable and is now available to all Merlin operators around the world.
