How To Have A Healthy Machine Shop

HOW TO HAVE A HEALTHY MACHINE SHOP

We are often complimented on our Factory Machine shop. Rather than the image most people have of a dirty, grimy, sticky floored machine shop, ours is bright, clean and well laid out.

How do we accomplish this?

Investment

Risbridger continuously invest in state of the art CAD/CAM software and quiet, efficient and safe machining centres. We also maintain and upgrade our equipment carefully.

Regular Inspection

Recently the machine shop was recently deemed safe and sound by the HSE, who made a routine inspection of our premises.

Employee health checks

We also employ consultants to come in and keep an eye on employees’ hearing and lung function.

The result? So far, so good. It pays to be proactive… As these health checks are such a regular occurrence, we have even started looking into getting an onsite clinic. This would save the back and forth commute of the health care professionals we use but there are also many other benefits that you can read more about at https://blog.edenhealth.com/onsite-clinic. Stay safe and healthy out there!

Staff safety

It has always been important to us to protect our staff and we have many safety features in place: including coolant-mist extractors, interlocked guarding and personal protective equipment, hand cleansers and lotions etc for all operators.
